On 16 March 1996, at Goudie Road, Reporoa, Ray and his Porsche 930 Turbo "The Ivory Beast" succeeded in breaking eight New Zealand Landspeed Records - including the coveted "Outright Landspeed Record, formerly held by Dr Rodger Freeth. The records achieved are listed below.
